Abdominal obesity - as dangerous as common

Abdominal obesity is a problem and sometimes a source of complexes for many people. Being aware of the problem is usually not enough to solve it. You need strong motivation and determination in changing your habits and life style.

Among the crucial factors that cause  excessive accumulation of fat around the waist are an unhealthy diet and lack of physical activity. When it comes to diet, the main culprits are excess calories, highly processed foods, fizzy drinks, sweets, fried foods, white flour, and alcohol.

It turns out that a factor contributing to abdominal obesity is also long-term stress, which disturbs the hormonal balance. Often the stress is associated with insomnia. Also, taking certain hormonal medicaments may result in weight gain.  A separate case is the change in the appearance of the female abdomen  after pregnancy.

The most common types of abdominal obesity include:

  • stress belly,
  • hormonal belly,
  • alcoholic belly,
  • belly after pregnancy.

On the Internet, you can find many descriptions, drawings and photos of the types of abdominal obesity that can help you to qualify a particular problem into a category.

Abdominal obesity is believed to increase the risk of many health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases. It can significantly contribute to a heart attack or stroke. So it is a problem much more serious than the aesthetic problem and it is worth taking an interest in it for your own good.
